HAM1
The highly modern datacenter in northern Germany
Our datacenter HAM1 in Hamburg is our latest datacenter and also the most modern datacenter in northern Germany. HAM1 was developed after the design of our datacenters LEV1 and DUS1 and, like these, meets the latest technical standards and certifications such as ISO 27001 and EN 50600.
As part of our Germany-wide network of datacenters, HAM1 was put into operation in September 2023. With a total space of 3,500 sqm – expandable to 10,000 sqm – the datacenter offers plenty of space for our clients’ individual colocation solutions.
Like our datacenters LEV1 and DUS1, HAM1 was built using a modular construction method. This is exceptionally resource-saving and sustainable and enables individual scalability for our customers, even during operation. HAM1 thus also proves that sustainability, efficiency and high quality go hand in hand.

DUS1
State-of-the-art datacenter at the Rhine river
Our datacenter DUS1 in Düsseldorf is one of Europe’s most modern datacenters. Our existing LEV1 datacenter in Leverkusen served as the base, both in terms of planning and implementation.
With a total area of 7,400 sqm – expandable to 15,000 sqm – DUS1 is even bigger than LEV1. Strategically, both datacenters provide the ideal combination for customers in North Rhine-Westphalia. Thanks to the short distance between them, customers can reach two of Datacenter One’s facilities within a 20-kilometer radius. Both sites are used for active/active clusters as well as redundancy concepts. Customers for whom this distance is too short, can also be supplied by one of our additional datacenters in Stuttgart.
DUS1 was officially opened in January 2020 after a build time of just nine months. The modular structure allows us to offer our customers individual scalability – even during operation. DUS1 conforms the highest ISO and TÜV requirements and is fully operated using environmentally friendly, 100% renewable energy.

LEV1
One of Europe’s most modern datacenters
One of Europe’s most modern datacenters is situated in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. For the first time, a fully modular datacenter was built in 2017 – a concept that was a significant milestone.
Our LEV1 datacenter is one of the most modern and energy-efficient datacenters in Europe. The datacenter was commissioned after a build time of only 6 months. It also conforms to the highest standards as proven by ISO and TÜV certifications. We already have building approval for the next expansion stage in order to be equipped for the future. This enables us to scale for our customers in record time. 12 months after opening, the datacenter was expanded by an additional 1,000 sqm.

- EN 50600 is the first European standard that sets requirements for datacenters. Through certification in line with DIN EN 50600, we comply with European standards and enable a high degree of physical security and supply availability, thereby reducing the likelihood of downtime and disruptions.
Certificate Trusted Site Infrastructure TSI.STANDARD V4.2 Level 3 (extended) by the TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH
- This certificate confirms that all infrastructural equipment is installed and operated in line with the state of the art. The TSI Level 3 stands for high protection requirement with no single point of failure (SPoF) in the supply systems, increased break-in resistance, safeguarding of supply pipelines, fire containment and status monitoring

- The ISAE 3402 certificate (International Standards for Assurance Engagements) confirms that we provide our services in compliance with an internal control system. The certificate is given by an external auditor. This saves our customers an additional audit of our processes.

Sooner or later, many companies are faced with the question of whether they should use managed hosting or private cloud solutions, or whether it’s time to build or rent their own datacenter.
IT outsourcing and solutions in the area of colocation are currently widely spread where greater IT capacity is required, even for medium-sized businesses. Most companies rent their servers in a datacenter and opt for managed datacenter solutions, either on a temporary or permanent basis. This is relatively affordable and flexible for smaller space requirements. However, there is typically less control over the IT infrastructure with these types of solutions.
A self-built or rented datacenter may therefore be a good alternative for larger quantities of data that need to be quickly accessible. Huge quantities of data often are a challenge for datacenters. The construction of a datacenter at a chosen location can therefore offer a high-performance solution. You have free reign to plan your datacenter and determine the requirements and necessary capacity yourself. Depending on requirements, the datacenter can also be expanded after commissioning, provided the installation was designed with scalability in mind.
